Can I watch an MOT vehicle inspection?

Yes, we have a viewing area should you wish to watch the MOT test being performed.

When is my car eligible for its first MOT?

All cars and motorcycles must have an MOT test certificate three years from the date of first registration.

Do I need to make an appointment for my car to be tested?

Normally yes. You are welcome to wait for the test to be completed (around 45 minutes).

Am I notified when my test date is due?

Unlike road tax, where you receive a reminder, the MOT test is your responsibility. However, as a customer of SGME MOT Leeds you will receive a reminder each year.

My MOT is due on the 17/03/2011. Can I take the test before that date?

Yes you can, but the MOT certificate will only be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of the test.

I have lost my MOT certificate. Am I able to get a duplicate copy?

Yes. We can provide you with a duplicate copy although there is a fee of £10.00 for doing so.
